Out There Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 24, 2026

1. Overview

Out There ("the App") gives you a daily "observe the world" theme and lets you complete the day with one photo. This policy explains how the App handles your information.

2. Information we do not collect automatically

The App has no account system and does not require registration or sign-in. It does not automatically collect your name, phone number, email address, device identifiers, or other personal information. If you choose to send a submission or feedback through the system mail composer, the information in that email leaves your device only after you confirm sending it; see section 8.

3. Photos and camera / photo library access

When you take a photo, the App requests access to the camera. Your photo is stored on your device by default for your own viewing and is never uploaded to our servers. A selected image is shared with the relevant system service only when you actively use system sharing, save it to your photo library, or confirm sending it by email from the submission screen.

4. Data stored locally

To remember which days you have completed and your daily mood, the App stores a small amount of data (completion dates and mood markers) in a local container on your device. This data stays on your device and is not synced to any server.

5. Daily theme content

The App fetches daily observation themes and related public content over the network. Requests never contain your photos, observation records, or email address. Valid content is cached locally for offline use.

6. Content delivery

Daily themes are delivered through Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS) and Content Delivery Network (CDN). To establish the connection and protect the service, the provider may process necessary access logs such as IP address, request time, requested URL, and network status. We do not add photos, observation records, email addresses, or advertising identifiers to these requests, and we do not use access logs for advertising or profiling.

7. In-app purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment information is handled by Apple, and we do not have access to it.

8. Submissions, feedback, and data sharing

The App has no ads, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. Other than the network processing required to deliver public content through Tencent Cloud COS/CDN, we do not actively provide your photos, observation records, or identity information to third parties.

When you choose “Submit by Email” on the submission screen, the system mail composer lets you review and send the message yourself. The email may include a framed version of the work and an unframed high-resolution version, its theme, credit name, city and message you choose to enter, publication/exhibition permissions, and the sender address provided by your email service. It is sent to bellyhole@icloud.com. We use it only to handle feedback and the publication or exhibition permissions you selected. You may contact that address at any time to withdraw permission or request deletion of a submitted work. Before you send the email, its contents and photos remain on your device.

The submission screen and “A Note to Players” include an external link to Out There on Xiaohongshu. Xiaohongshu opens only after you tap that link; its own privacy policy and terms then apply.

9. Data deletion

Deleting the App removes photos, collections, and preferences stored in the App locally. It does not remove photos you saved to your system library or emails you have already sent. Contact the address above to request deletion of a submission or feedback email.

10. Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Policy updates

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date and content on this page.
